Joyful Pain

We are individuals who are daily challenged. I don't just mean with all the things that stress us out in our lives like school, friends and work. Each day, we are challenged in our faith to step out and lead. Yes, it is going to hurt. Yes, you will bleed. But that is what is required of us. "The genuine leader internalizes pain and disappointment and releases it to the fiery mercy of Christ." We know this to be true yet we often forget to follow through. Don't express your pain, instead express love and strength. A leader is a model, someone who is looked up to. If you express pain, that is what will be seen. If you express love and strength, that is what will be seen and taken to heart. As we serve this summer and as we go about our lives I hope that instead of finding pain in the pain of leading, I hope that we find the joy. May we find the joy that comes in leading, loving and serving others.
