People People

Genuine love for people. If we have a genuine love for Christ than we must as an outpouring have a genuine love for people. Those 2 things cannot go one wiithout the other. As followers of Christ and believers in truth it is necessary that we love people like Christ loves people. I love the model of John and Peter, how often it is so hard to love people who make mistakes or mess up. That it would have been so easy for John to look at himself and say how great and wonderful he is and how could he associate himself with someone like Peter who denied Christ but instead John saddled up alongside Peter and continued to point Him to Christ, holding no grudge, keeping track of no wrongs but just loving him. Society does not push the idea of being people people but instead tells us we should be looking out for ourselds. That we should make sure we are doing ok, feeling ok, being treated ok and getting all of our needs met instead of putting others first. It is easier to love people who are lovable and in a great place, it is hard to love people who are going through tough times or who are more unlovable, Christ calls us to love everyone, regardless of situation. If we are drawing out the best in others, and loving others are we in fact drawing out Christ and being a living reflection of Him? Yes! That love is a direct reflection of Christ and what better love for people!
